Seven days is the perfect amount of time to see the very best that ancient Egypt has to offer. Accompanied by your expert Egyptologist Egypt Deluxe guide we dive into the legendary history of the country, discovering the must-see locations that fascinate historians and adventurers the world over.
We begin in the eclectic and frenetic metropolis that is Cairo—a city that never fails to stir excitement simply by the mere mention of its name. We hit the incredible display of ancient antiquities at the famed Egyptian Museum before venturing into the hubbub of local life, walking the cobbled streets of Bab el-Foutouh and shopping in the souks of Khan el-Khalili.
No tour to Egypt would be complete without pyramids, and we explore not only the wonders of Giza (where the Great Pyramid is the only of the Seven Wonders of the World to still exist), but also those that are even older at Sakkara and Memphis.
We spend three nights sailing the Nile River, exploring the High Dam of Aswan, the twin temples of Kom Ombo, Horus Temple at Edfu and then…. We arrive in the city that for many is the highlight of the tour—Luxor. Nothing can prepare you for the incredible sites that await. King Tutankhamun’s tomb in the Valley of the Kings, the temple of Hatshepsut, Colossi of Memnon, the tomb of Rameses the Great—these are but of few of the wonders on our tour of a lifetime.
We pack a lot into the trip, but rest assured that we weave in plenty of time for relaxation as well. There’s even time to head out for some self-exploration and shopping on our return to Cairo, as well as an exciting Egyptian cooking class so you can take home the gift of creating your own traditional cuisine.
